Nursing
Nursing at Georgia State is offered in several forms, giving individuals the chance to pursue their B.S.N., M.S., Ph.D. or certificate depending on their previous studies. According to a study from the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, Georgia only has 7.6 nurses for every 1000 people and is projected to need 13,260 more by the year 2030. This high-demand profession has a strong outlook ahead.
Because of the robust offerings from the School of Nursing, interested individuals have the flexibility to decide which pathway to completion is best for them. For example, those pursuing their Ph.D. can choose full or part-time coursework to compliment their work as nurses. Once completing the Ph.D. program, graduates have expanded opportunities such as faculty roles in nursing schools or earning leadership positions in healthcare organizations.
