Presenting research at conferences is a significant experience, offering the chance for master’s and doctoral students to see the outcome of their hard work at Georgia State. Academic conference participation facilitates networking with like-minded professionals and exposes students to feedback from an expanded source of experts.
Despite these positive aspects, many students shy away from participating because of the cost. Travel and lodging expenses, as well as registration fees, may keep students from pursuing them.
A new opportunity is available for graduate students interested in traveling to present research at upcoming conferences. The Graduate School and the Office of Research have joined to sponsor this initiative, the Conference Travel Fund (CTF).
Georgia State’s goal is to assist students with these expenses to support academic and creative pursuits. The CTF is now accepting applications for 2025 conference travel for both online and in-person graduate students.

There are a few criteria students must meet before applying for the CTF. First, they must be in at least the second year of their graduate program and enrolled full-time with at least a 3.0 GPA.
Additionally, program approval is necessary from each student’s Program Director or the Director of Graduate Studies. Applicants must be the primary author/scholar of the work being presented, whether attending a national or international conference.
