It’s summertime in Georgia, meaning tons of sunshine, pop-up thunderstorms and rising temperatures. Much like the hot weather, there are several jobs and titles that are “hot" on the market right now.
Indeed’s Career Center recently released its list of 25 High-Paying In-Demand Jobs, tallying some of the most trending careers sweeping the nation. The list includes a variety of industries, highlighting jobs with varying requirements and pay scales.

Registered Nurse
With an average salary of $88,828, Indeed ranks registered nurses first on its list of high-paying and trending jobs for 2023. With over 600,000 nurses projected to leave the field by 2027, the need for up-and-coming graduates is already being felt.

For individuals with an associate’s degree, the Nursing R,N. to B.S.N program allows practicing nurses to achieve a bachelor’s in nursing, while the Nursing R.N. to M.S. program gives practicing nurses with a bachelor’s degree a streamlined option to a master’s diploma.

In 2022, U.S. News and World Report ranked Georgia State’s online master’s in commercial real estate program ninth among public university programs. Available through the Robinson College of Business, the program can be completed in three semesters and is designed for students who are principally interested in careers in the real estate industry.
Graduates from the 2021 class boasted a 32% average salary increase – with a maximum reported salary of $165,000 – while 100% of graduates found employment within three months of graduation. The degree prepares students in areas of financial counseling, market analysis and valuation, as well as industry activities such as real property development, acquisition, disposition and management.
General Manager
The No. 11 trending job on the list, general managers are needed everywhere from the service and hospitality industries to technical and goods-based sectors. Individuals in this line of work are responsible for finances and the daily operation of a company, and a strong business sense is needed to ensure success.
Georgia State offers an online B.B.A program in hospitality administration where students learn a curriculum that incorporates courses in the arts, sciences, business theory and hospitality applications to prepare them for management and leadership in the hospitality industry. With eight student organizations and a network of over 80,000 school alumni, individuals can connect with a plethora of people and resources for use during the program and beyond.
Career paths in hospitality are numerous, and the transferable skills learned in the classroom allow individuals to move from one industry segment to another. Sales Representatives
Ranked No. 6 on the list, sales representatives are essential to many of the nation’s top industries, with over 5,800 jobs per 1 million people.
Through the Robinson College of Business, Georgia State offers an online B.B.A program in marketing where students gain an understanding of markets and customers, product development, pricing strategies, advertising and promotion, and methods of distribution.
The program, which can be completed in two years, was ranked 20th in the nation among public schools by U.S. News and World Report. Students can join five different student organizations, including the Georgia State Sales Club, while tailoring their degrees to meet personal and professional goals, including taking electives in management, hospitality and international business.
